Learn how Hubbard Construction in Florida has
improved their trucker behavior with Fleetwatcher
As one of the largest heavy civil contractors and one of the largest asphalt producers in Florida, Hubbard Construction Company (HCC) is owned by Eurovia (a subsidiary of VINCI) based in Orlando, Florida with Divisions located in Jacksonville, Tampa and Lakeland. Founded in 1920, HCC is a multi-faceted general contracting company that performs design build and bid build projects throughout the State of Florida. The scope of their work includes large design build infrastructure, heavy highway construction, highway maintenance, bridge construction, bridge repair, asphalt supply and heavy civil site projects.
Hubbard has been using Fleetwatcher's Materials Management Solution for four years and Dispatch Specialist Terry Hermsen of the Jacksonville Division, has been thrilled with the results. "We have changed the culture of the truck drivers with our use of Fleetwatcher through running reports with start times and it has improved our on-time and call-outs by 100%."
What is their favorite feature? "One of my favorite features is the Load Cycle Analysis Report. I can see everything I need with a quick glance of that report, it letโs me know who is on the job, if they were on time, and if the drivers stay too long at a gas station. We have been able to incorporate us back billing the owners for work not performed. I have all the foreman, superintendents, and supporting personnel on the mobile app. It's a great way to keep track of the drivers anywhere you are.
How is the support? "Fleetwatcher's support group is fantastic. If there is ever any questions. I get the answer immediately. They are on top of their customerโs needs. I had a problem with running one of the new reports. I called Nik, our CS rep and he stopped doing whatever he was doing and immediately solved my issue. I have been using Fleetwatcher for a year now and find it easy to use and keeps all the drivers honest."
Welcome New Customers!
We want to welcome the following new customers to the
FleetWatcher Family.
Scale Ticket Integration
Scale Ticket Integration is something we reference a lot around here. We thought it would be helpful to speak to CS Manager, Matt Jordan about the benefits the Customer Success team has seen when customers use the software correctly.
What is the process to integrate scale data systems into FleetWatcher? Is it costly? From a FW standpoint integrating with scales is completely free. We have a team here who works with the customer to get our agent installed on the computer. Requirements are that it's a windows PC and has a stable internet connection. We have integrated outside of Windows with other systems but we can't integrate with a DOS-based system.
What primary benefits do our customers see once this integration is complete?
Our customers get several reports and access to real time information. Some of that includes:
Tons loaded out by a project
Tons delivered to the job
Real-time KPIs (Tons per hour, cycle time averages, and Trucking cost per ton)
Access to see when each truck was loaded and what plant they were loaded at
Do DOT's and others accept this data on loads in place of the load tickets?
Yes our system is being used across the country on various DOT projects and Fleetwatcher fulfills the required specs.
Is the load ticket data available in a graph or report in real-time?
Yes, our load cycle analysis displays scale tickets per truck. That information includes truck number, load time, material type, project, tonnage, and other information.
Have any of our customers been able to reduce costs with scale ticket integration?
Every customer we are scales integrated with see immediate benefits and savings from our scales integration.

Meet Brian Luczywo! Brian has been with Fleetwatcher 8 months and works in our Engineering Department staying on top of all of the software advances that Fleetwatcher continues to put forward. Outside of work, Brian is a master carpenter! Keep reading to learn more about his passion.
"My great-grandfather was a master finish carpenter who immigrated from Poland around 1920 but did not want my Dad to follow him in that career so the skill skipped a generation! I discovered that carpentry was in my genes when I met a woodworker 30 years ago in my first job out of college who was building a home with self-milled lumber. When I bought my second house, I took on the task of being general contractor and did stairs, wiring, windows, electrical, and trim.
Set design and construction was a natural evolution when my wife and I joined a local theater company 5 years ago. For set design, my favorite project was a log-chopping machine that I used when I played Maurice in โBeauty and the Beastโ (the crazy inventor, see image above of me with the bouffant hair). I literally threw chips in the air when I turned it on and I had to warn the younger children not to play with the prop as it was truly a dangerous piece of machinery.
The number one skill that carpentry has taught me is a can-do attitude. It has paradoxically made me both self-reliant as well as team-oriented."
